Panckakes Recipe
Description
Blini are Russia's pancakes, our traditional dish since ancient times. We even celebrate our national holiday Maslenitsa with pancake week, when for 7 days all Russians eat pancakes with smoked salmon, mushrooms, meat and traditional toppings like smetana, caviar, sgushyonka or varenye.
Ingredients (20-30 pancakes)
3 eggs
5 tablespoons sugar
Salt 1/2 tea spoon
1 l milk
500g flower
50 ml sunflower oil
Directions
In sauce pan whisk eggs, sugar and salt. Whisk and mix properly for 2-3 minutes and add milk. Add 100g of flower and mix again. Continue mixing and adding flower in 100 g portions. Add oil. Finally you need to have one colored mass without clods.
Put your frying pan on fire and add one table spoon of oil. Spread oil on the surface. Put 4-5 tablespoons of your pancake mas on the pan and spread on the surface by turning your pan up and down (left-right) put on strong fire for 1-2 minutes, then turn your pancake for 40 seconds and it should be ready.
In fact first time your pancakes will not look or taste smart till you get your experience. It is normal practice. For the first time it is very difficult to make perfect pancakes. Even in Russian we have a proverb - "Pervi blin komom" what means first pancake is always with clods (baked not well).
When your pancakes are ready add ingredient that you like. We advise red caviar, sour cream, smoked salmon, honey or chocolate with coconut сhips.
