ARTSTORY Gallery

Contemporary Art Gallery ARTSTORY opened in October 2014 in the center of Moscow, in Staropimenovskiy Lane, 14. The gallery exhibits works of artists of various epochs, various trends and styles, and different fates and fortunes.

The gallery founders – art collectors Mikhail Opengeym and Lucine Petrosyan – are interested in “exploring the idea of history being reflected in authors’ creations, as well as the role of artists in making the history”. This is where the name of the gallery comes from.

The gallery organizes large group expositions of contemporary art and personal exhibitions of artists. It actively engages private collectors and cooperates with state museums. Along with the exhibitions there are many other events taking place at the gallery, such as lectures and master classes for children and adults, concerts and movie shows. The gallery consists of four exhibition halls and an art residency for talented artists coming from other regions.

Collection of ARTSTORY includes works of such artists as: Alexey Shwartzman, Leonid Purygin, Dmitry Plavinskiy, Nikolay Sitnikov, Anatoly Zverev, Oleg Kudryashov, Andrey Grositskiy, Oscar Rabin, Oleg Tselkov, Moses Feigin, Evgeny Rukhin, Anatoly Slepyshev, Alexander Roitburd, Natalia Nesterova, Lev Tabenkin, Vladimir Migachev and other artists that represent a certain unique side of such a complex phenomenon as Russian avant-garde.

ARTSTORY collection is a real example of how one can take works of art completely opposite in style and trend and build from them a lively, topical and powerful collection that is capable of becoming a museum collection.
